SilverStar Mountain Resort confirms fatality in the Powder Gulch area on Saturday - Vernon News - Castanet.net

One person is dead following an incident at Silverstar Mountain Resort on Saturday.

Ian Jenkins, Director of Sales, Marketing and Accommodation, confirmed there was a fatality in the Powder Gulch area of SilverStar Mountain.

“In the wake of Saturday's incident, we at SilverStar Mountain Resort offer our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased,” said Jenkins.

The resort did not provide any further details about the incident, and the RCMP are now handling the investigation.

While some reports have been circulating of a possible avalanche at SilverStar Mountain Saturday, Jenkins said the death did not involve an avalanche and he was unaware of any avalanches occurring.
